Privacy Policy
Daylta is built so that your day stays on your phone. This policy explains exactly what that means, what the app does touch, and your choices.
The short version. Daylta has no user accounts and no Daylta servers that store your data. Your tasks, plans, timers, reflections, streaks and settings live only on your device. Daylta does not read health or fitness data from other apps and does not use your location. We do not run ads, analytics SDKs, or sell data.
1. Who we are
Daylta is published by BigPiq ("we", "us"). For the purposes of data-protection law, we are the data controller for any personal data described in this policy. Contact details are in section 13.
2. What the app stores, and where
Everything you create in Daylta is stored in a local database on your device. We cannot see it, and it is not uploaded anywhere by the app.
| Data | Examples | Where it lives |
|---|---|---|
| Planning data | Tasks, goals, categories, schedules, repeat rules, your daily "three" | Your device only |
| Activity data | Timer sessions, pauses, planned versus actual minutes, focus and break sessions, completions, streaks | Your device only |
| Habit logs | Water glasses logged, breaks taken | Your device only |
| Reflections | End-of-day reflection answers and reports | Your device only |
| Personalisation | Onboarding archetype answers, display name you enter, notification and quiet-hour settings | Your device only |
| Usage signals | Which tab you open most, so the app can open there next time | Your device only |
Daylta does not ask for your email address, phone number, contacts or photos to work, and never asks for your location. If you type personal details into a task name or reflection, they are stored on your device like everything else.
3. Android permissions we ask for
Each permission is requested when the related feature is used, and you can refuse it. The feature that needs it simply stays off. Daylta does not request location, physical-activity, body-sensor or health permissions.
| Permission | Why Daylta needs it |
|---|---|
| Notifications | Task reminders, the running-timer notification, and the evening wrap-up nudge. |
| Exact alarms | So a reminder for a 9:00 task fires at 9:00, not "sometime around then". |
| Foreground service | Keeps a task timer running accurately while the app is in the background, with lock-screen controls. |
| Display over other apps / full-screen alerts | Lets a task alarm show over the lock screen and lets Bitsy's small overlay appear. Optional. |
| Ignore battery optimisation | Optional. Prevents some phones from silently killing a running timer. |
| Internet | Used for opening links, such as this website. Daylta has no servers of its own. |
4. Third-party services
- Google Play handles installation and updates. Google may show us aggregated, anonymous install and crash statistics through the Play Console; these are not linked to your Daylta data.
Daylta does not embed advertising SDKs, third-party analytics, or social media trackers.
5. Bitsy and on-device intelligence
Bitsy's messages, coaching suggestions, weekly insights and the "how am I doing?" answers are generated on your device from your own data. No AI calls leave your phone. Nothing you type to Bitsy is sent to us or to any AI provider.
6. What leaves your device
To be precise, here is every network connection the app makes:
- Opening links (for example this website) in your browser.
That's the list. There is no Daylta backend, no sync service, and no telemetry.
7. This website
daylta.com is a static site hosted on Firebase Hosting (Google). Like any web host, Firebase records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, timestamps) for security and operations; Google retains these for a limited period under its own privacy terms. The site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. The contact form on the site submits what you type (topic, optional name and email, message) to a Google Form owned by us; Google stores those responses in our Google account under Google's privacy policy, and we keep them only as long as needed to reply. The quiz at daylta.com/quiz works the same way: your answers, and an email address or phone number if you choose to leave one, go to a Google Form owned by us; we use the answers to understand how people plan their days and the contact details only to invite you to try the app early. Nothing else is stored on the site.
If you email us, we keep the correspondence for as long as needed to help you, then delete it.
8. Retention and deletion
Because your data is on your device, you control how long it exists:
- Delete individual tasks, goals and sessions inside the app at any time.
- Clear everything from the app's settings, or uninstall Daylta. Uninstalling removes the app's local database and settings.
Step-by-step instructions are on the delete your data page. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side; if you have emailed us, we will delete that correspondence on request.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the EU/EEA, UK, and several US states), you have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Since your data is on your device, most of these you can exercise directly in the app. For anything else, email hello@bigpiq.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
Lawful basis (EU/UK). Where the GDPR applies, we process the limited data described here on the basis of performing our contract with you (providing the app).
10. Children and teens
Daylta is designed for people aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 is using Daylta, contact us and we will help. In the EU, users under 16 may need a parent's or guardian's consent to use the app; because Daylta holds no account data, the practical control is the device's own parental settings.
11. Security
Your data is protected by your device's own security: screen lock, encryption and app sandboxing. We recommend keeping a screen lock enabled. The release build of the app is obfuscated and signed.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change how Daylta handles data, we will update this page, change the effective date at the top, and, for material changes, tell you inside the app before the change takes effect.
